Snap shots taken along the most popular trail in the park midday.. nothing special.
Next time I suggest shooting earlier or later in the day to get the long shadows, contrast, and the amazing light that Zion canyon will provide for you.

1 is not great due to the lighting and 2 could have been better. Next time ( if you have a hot-shoe flash ) try using some fill flash. It would have lit up those foreground branches and leaves a little. Either way though, the lighting was working against you on these. Nice effort though. The colors look good.

I agree with the others, the lighting was definately working against you. If you are still in the area, try hitting the Sand Bench Trail in the earlier morning hours. You can get some great shots of the morning sun hitting the Court of the Patriarchs, as well as you get the added benefit of getting away from the crowds. It isn't announced during the shuttle ride up, but starts down by the river across the street from the Court of the Patriarchs overlook trail.

You are right. Hope I would be able go back Zion as a photographer, not a tourist. :)

Thanks! I shall try fill light when I have chance next time. :)

Thanks Mike! It was my first time in Zion 2 year before. I did not have time to go many trails. Hope to be there again. :)
