I really like your second shot; the cropping is very nice!

I think your first shot should have had the fishing pole as the focus with everything else out of focus. JMHO.

I'm with Abel here, the first one does not work for me, either. The idea for the POV is good, but the focus is not right, so it feels.
Where do you go fishing?

Cute critter in the second. They are skittish and fast, so I believe, and thus not so easy to capture. What is the new thing about the second photo? The cropping?
