I had a Canon A470 for 3 months, then dropped it.
I got a "Lens error, restart camera" error msg and then it would turn off.
I left in on my shelf until now. I decided to "fix" it myself. I already bought a replacement and think my son (4) would like to use it if I can fix it.
So this is where I am with the project.......
I have the whole camera apart, I managed to get the lens out and all the pcs around it out. I can see how it works and know what needs to happen. I got the lens back together and put all the pcs back inside, now when you power up the lens actually moves and then stop at a certain point, you can hear it trying to rotate and catch. However there is a tiny spring that I can`t find a home for. It was just lying in the bottom of the lens housing.
Anyone one have any technical info or know where the spring goes.
