C&C, 2 Fall photos please

Hey everyone,

Two shots from the weekend, and I know they are lacking. I just can't get them to pop like others can with there images on this site. What am I doing wrong? Same settings for both: f/6.3, 1/400 taken with d90.

Ok, I have no idea why my images are not showing up (at least on this computer at the moment) I have uploaded pictures before, and know how to do it, so I don't know why they are not coming up. Here are the links, even though I know it annoys people... sorry.

Edit2: I was able to get the pictures in the post this morning. I don't know why I can do it at the office, but not at home.

If you insert the photos into the post you probably will get a better response

I'm not a pro at nature but to me the second one almost pops too much. I think the saturation went a little overboard here.

Again, it's a matter of personal taste.

I'd say the sunlight was not ideal at the time (it wasn't bad either...). It doesn't look like that you waited for the one minute during the golden hour to get the shot. That would have made a difference for sure. Other than that I don't know how to make it more "pop".

I agree with Carsten. The 1st is overwhelmingly colorful. Don't get me wrong, the color is absolutely beautiful, it's just a bit too much. Did you add saturation or play with the colors at all with photoshop?

I used lightroom, and yes, I may have added a bit too much saturation to the one (now the 1st one). I guess I'm still learning how to use that program too.
