Hi, I'm an amateur and just got a canon T1i rebel camera. Does anyone know if its possible to bring up on the LCD the picture that it will take? I mean all I get is a summary of the settings on the LCD, I have to look through the view finder to see what it will take a picture of. I simply can't figure it out.

Thanks.

That's called live view, there should be a way to get it. I don't have the camera so I don't know, but yea. Here, [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlHA3dHiNw4[/ame]

Just for reference, kenw, it's the "500D" not "D500". Canon cameras *END* in D, Nikon cameras begin with it.

Ok, I got it. Thanks. You can't be in Basic mode. Live view works only on like the P setting with the dial.

They cover that (Live View) in the 500D/T2i users manual too.

I was gonna say that :p

500D is T1i btw, 550D is T2i

And D500, as the OP put it, is Nikon's future 1.5x crop sensor arriving early 2012

EDIT: thanked Sbuxo for the vid of the Terminator explaining how to use live view.
