I've eyed up this interesting background on Blackpool's seafront for a while but never managed to use it to my satisfaction. But my luck was in yesterday, the light was right and a cyclist appeared!

Thanks acsonpg and Megapaws - I appreciate your comments. I'm not one for photographing people as a rule, and this is only half about the person I guess, but it's something I may get into a bit more.

Regards, Tony

Nicely done. I like the direction of the shadows.

My first thought was that I'd like to see his face better. But after looking more, I think that having him looking down kind of adds to the shot. Makes it appear like maybe he's struggling to get up the hill?

Great shot..It conveys a lot of emotion and i like the photo in B&W. All the lines in the background, pavers and fence are helping the photo too.

Thanks for the kind comments. Glad you like the contrasty B&W.

Regards, Tony

You get the prize Tempra for being the first person from the UK to mention Hovis in connection with this shot. There is a second prize for the first person to insert a clip of the Largo from Dvorak's "New World" Symphony with a comment!

As for location, not Blackpool, but near enough to get there easily (Poulton le Fylde).

Regards, Tony

So sorry, Tony, that this is only the first couple of bars ... it ends before it really begins ... : [ame="http://www.amazon.de/gp/music/clipserve/B00004S1EG001002/1/ref=mu_sam_ra001_002/302-0057027-0416069"]Largo_from_"New_World"_by_Antonin_Dvorak[/ame] (wait ... the music will come, I tested the link and it worked with me.)
