Error when updating my email address

I'm trying to update my email address in account settings and I'm receiving the error message "The email address you entered has been banned by the administrator. Please try another."

My old email address is on a private server I'm planning to shut down soon, and my new email address (the one I'm having the error with) is a Gmail address.

This happened to another user recently. I think our spam filters are on overdrive!
