Hey everybody. Very amateur photographer here, signed up on the board to hopefully get some help picking out a new, to me, camera of some sort and learning more in general about photography. I've been using a Konica FT-1, which is almost older than I am, but it recently gave out on me. After having it sit for a while unused, it's suddenly quit loading film, won't change shutter speeds, and the light meter no longer works (never worked while I've had it, but it didn't bother me much). It also won't do continues shots anymore, so I'm guessing there's something majorly wrong with it. So now I need a new 35mm of some sort. Any thoughts, comments, or advice would be appreciated.

Well i would recommend a Digitial SLR instead because film is a deteriorating market in which digital is taking over.

DSLR would be nice, but not exactly in my price range at the moment. Right now I'm perusing ebay to see what sort of newer SLR's are available, even though I'm not really sure what I should be looking for.

The canon rebel series is pretty good for the price. I have a k2. Eventually i purchased a digital one but it's nice because I can still shoot film and use the same lenses.
