I am a mom of 2 wonderful little girls...7 and 3. I have gotten sick and tired of going to the mall to the portrait places. I never got the shot I wanted...when I said I would like "this" they completely ignored me. I was the one that had to pay for the pics.

Anyway so I have started doing my own pictures. I got what I wanted and the shot turned out perfect. Everyone says they look professional. Now I have bought a canon rebel xs...it should arrive tomorrow. I am excited and I am sure I will have a lot of questions.

I can't wait to get to know everyone!

Welcome and good luck with your great new camera. I purchased the same camera just a couple months ago and I am loving it! I know you didn't ask for lens help. but if you are interested in portraits or just quick snaps of your kids I'd recommend the 50mm F/1.8 lens. It's great for low light situations and around the house snaps.
