    Sorry Just couldn't resist
Told that "soliciting" in "American English" meant begging or busking - they don't know what they are missing!

Wow. That place is a drag. Do people actually go there? What do they do?

FYI - to Solicit in American English is to pitch or sell.

As an aside, when a prostitute is arrested for plying her trade, the charge is most often referred to as "Solicitation."
