Safari is actually surprisingly good these days, thanks to Webkit (Same rendering engine as Chrome)

Just for mac tho? I tried the PC version and while it looked nice, it lacked some of the basic features a browser should have these days (for example, plug ins). Or have they fixed it?

No problem with that here and I've used Firefox, safari and Internet Explorer.
Other places I've had the 'ghost ad' popup and that i just click the x if I can find it

I was talking about Safari 4+ on Windows. However, I was referring to compliance with web standards and speed more than extensions and features. It's extremely fast, and manages a perfect score on the Acid3 test for standards. (So far, Opera was the first to pass [Wikipedia claims it's second, but the public betas of Opera 10 did it earlier than Safari], followed by Safari, then Epiphany, then Chrome.)
