lens adapter help

    Can others edit my Photos:
    Photos OK to edit
    I am new to the forum and new to photography. I have a Canon 300D and I inherited with the death of my grandfather a Vivitar 200 mm Telephoto lens that he used to use on his Pentax K1000 and was wondering if there were some type of adapter I could use to attach this to my canon. I bought what I thought was correct off of ebay, but it doesn't seem to fit the vivitar...

    Did you buy an M42 adapter?
    Thats what I use for my old pentax screw mount lenses.

    yes, I did. But this isnt a screw mount lens. IN all honesty, the mount looks the same as the lens that came with my canon, just not as large around...but other than that it appears the same
