Can anyone tell me if the Nikkor 70-300mm f4-f5.6G AF will fit on the Nikon D50? I know that most lense by nikon will fit but just making sure. I don't have my camera yet(on its way) but while shopping today I saw the lense for $70 and couldn't pass it up.

according to dpreview...

• DX Nikkor: All functions supported
• Type G or D AF Nikkor: All functions supported
• Micro Nikkor 85 mm F2.8D: All functions supported except autofocus and some exposure modes
• Other AF Nikkor: All functions supported except 3D Color Matrix Metering II
• AI-P Nikkor: All functions supported except 3D Color Matrix Metering II and autofocus
• Non-CPU: Can be used in exposure mode M, but exposure meter does not function; electronic range finder can be used if maximum aperture is f/5.6 or faster
Note: IX Nikkor lenses cannot be used.

As said above yes. Only real big difference is that the lens does not have an aperature ring. Aperature can only be set by the camera! But for full functions it will work as its supposed too on your camera. ;)
