Need advise

Commercial photography is something I'm interested in getting started with. Since I have no studio, I figure I'll try to shoot for magazines (aircraft monthly, etc.). So I'm wondering if anyone has any advise on how to be able to establish a decent relationship with specialist magazines, and how to select photos to submit to such magazines. If I go to an event, consert, air show etc. I usually shoot several Gigs of photos, and sending that quantity of images will propably scare potential byers of. So do I choose the photos I like the best or how do I do this?
