Negative space

Would like to get your feedback about what you think of the neg. space to the left of the photo. Too much? im currently using this as my wallpaper woth the icons in the neg space, but would like to hear what you think.

I think it's fine, esp. if you're using it as your desktop, with your program's icons on the left of the screen. I do the same thing with certain photos.

a good starting place is the thirds rule: divide your frame into thirds horizontally and vertically and place your main subject focus on the axis of two of the 'lines'...using that approach youd have slightly less bottom and left side neg space... but the added neg space seems to add motion.. kinda feels like hes gonna sprint off to the left and the extra space sort of exaggerates this feeling ... i dig it...
