No zoo this weekend - the buffalo and the owl were both from the local safari park. The owl is a rescue from Raptor Recovery of Nebraska.

Thanks WB. Had to pull the car off the highway, and since their was no shoulder there I actually pulled into the ditch. Got out and hiked in closer to get the shot.

When I got back had a couple in a nice SUV parked behind me - they thought I might be in trouble and had stopped to see if they could help. I had to explain that I wasn't having car trouble, I'd just stopped to grab a photo, guy see's the Elk and grabs his iphone and heads that way but buy this time the critter decides enough is enough, jumps up and wanders off.

So I got their email address and sent him copies of my pics, since they were nice enough to stop and try and help.
