Ok I just got a Nikon D80 as my first slr camera so I went out to the garden and took a few shots with it ....

**I had had the camera 1 hour when i took these**

Any tips.? give me your opinions....

this is the first time ive ever taken pictures with an slr so go easy on me.!

1. Would like for the rest of the dog to be in focus, not just the nose

I agree with the pictures being OOF. I suggest to play around some more until you get the hang of what your camera is capable of doing. Enjoy!

yes i knew they were OOF when I put them up and even on the camera screen, as for playing with the camera .... i can promise lol .... thanks

All of these pictures are underexposed. (Except for 1... maybe...)

You're shutter speed is to slow.. they arent out of focus.. they are blurred.

You don't want to go slower than 1/50 if you are going hand held.

And that really also depends on the maximum focal length of the camera.. say you are shooting at 200mm.. Unless you have VR you dont really want to go below 1/250
