Rebel XSi / 430ex2 Flash

Just curious what others are using with there XSi

I am taking family photos, and alittle amatuer photography.

Alittle fed back of what you are using, likes, dislikes.

Someone pointed me in the direction of the Canon 430ex2

Whats your thoughts.

Great flash, a perfect match for your camera.

Pros:
It's works seamlessly with your camera and is a fairly powerful flash unit.
It's got several good features.

Cons:
It's not inexpensive.
It's lacking some of the features of the more expensive 580EX.

I am using the Vivitar which is basically the same but cheaper.

Does the Vivitar have ETTL that works with your camera? I'm only asking because I don't know. For what little strobe work I do, the ability to not have to worry much about the flash exposure would be worth the price difference.

thats the one I got, it was a gift, I am not sure about the feature you are mentioning, and I am pretty new to flashes.
