....starting a home photography business?

I currently have a Sony Mavica CD250. I really love that camera, but it only has 2 mega pixels. That is fine for around the house, but not for taking pictures of weddings, families or anything to sell to others.

I am just starting out and really could use some direction.

Thanks & God Bless

you will need an (digital) SLR

here's a few names to Take a look at: the Canon 300d, 350d, 20d and the Nikon d50, d70

if you have a bit more cash to spend the canon 30d, 5d and nikon d200

and don't forget that you will have to consider lenses too

http://www.stevesdigicams.com is another excellent site.

I agree with above, you'll need at least a basic digital SLR. I don't know much about pros, but it seems like they usually use, well, professional cameras, e.g. Kodak DCS's, etc. But if you're just getting started, those might be a bit too expensive.
