So I was taking pictures yesterday and I heard something even after i was focused. It sounded like the focusing motor kept going after it showed the focusing lights light up... I need some input before I send it in for repair... I know its hard to figure it out without hearing or seeing it but any help would be appreciated.

Nope I have upgraded to a canon eos 30d.
28-135mm lens.

Update: I just put my ear next to my camera. Seems to me the noise is coming from inside the lens... Now does this mean is the lens or the focusing motor that is attached to my camera?

Is the lens an IS lens?
If so you are hearing the IS.
Try turning it off and check.

Canon EF 28-135 F4 IS

If you send it in for repair, you'll be laughed at. They may even just remove the IS so you don't have to listen to it.

The instruction manual is a beautiful thing.
