18-105 Nikkor rubber ring came off

Ok, this is really really weird, I was taking some snaps today with my D5100 + 18-105 and noticed that something was dangling when I was at full zoom. Apparently the rubber ring just before the zoom grip had come off and was dangling around. I tried to put it back but it didn't work. I then slowly managed to align the blocks on the lens to the embeddings on the ring and it went back in to place (took 20 minutes to find out the proper place). Apparently the Glue that held the ring in place (seems and feels like super glue) had given up.... weird.

Should I take it to the local nikon dealer or use super glue myself :lmao:
