1939 Leica iii resto/repair/cleanup

I have a IIIc that I ruined when I attempted to replace the rangefinder mirror myself.. :frown-new: I mostly just did it for fun and to see if I could. I was riding on a high of successfully repairing an old Nikon lens and youtube videos made it look easy so...
It already needed a cla due to shutter capping, so I wasn't too upset, but I was planning to send it to a professional eventually. I'm not in a rush since I have other cameras, but now I really want to after this thread.. hah

I only dove into this one because of how cheap I got it. If it was an M3 or something I never would have tried. its a pretty neat little thing and I really like the look of the early ones that were less clean (in terms of design) than the M series. I sacrificed a bit of the vulcanized covering to this job which Im not that upset about. Im mostly excited to get some more rolls through it.

Same here. I think I paid about $120 for mine, plus since it already needed work... I got it all back together, but the focus is off now.
