1st Landscape shot

Hi guys! first time in landscape photography. Normally posting and scouring the people photography but after seeing so many landscapes it is inspiring me to shoot more landscapes. I just went out tonight and shot this in front of my house. I will be in chicago soon and practicing let me know whats good/bad about it so i can improve thank you!

I think one reason why you haven't gotten a feedback is because no one is patient enough to wait for the whole thing to load.

What was your goal of this photo? Did you achieve it? If you think there are areas you think should be better, then I think we can help you better.

So far I think the overall exposure can be brighter. Not saying you should go for a higher exposure, but play with fill light in RAW editor to see if you can bring more details out without getting the bright spots blown up.

Also, there's too much emptiness towards the bottom. I think more sky will be better in this case.

I'm certainly no pro shooter, so don't be offended by this... but I think it's terrible. It's too dark, composition is terrible, and there is nothing interesting in the picture. What are you trying to do with this photograph? You need to find an interesting subject, for example, the Chicago skyline, and focus on that, and also try having lines lead to your subject. For example, roads with light trails (if you are doing night landscapes) that lead to the city. etc.

Good advice given although i wouldn't go as far as to say it's a terrible image, personally.
You could consider cropping the image from this 3:2 into something more panoramic, like 16:9.
