2 kid shots, whatcha think

I have 3 girls, all are grown up. I remember the precious moments. When you get older, the technical part of these photos will not mean much, the memories will flood you with such great feelings!!!

Your shot of her on the tracks is just fantastic.

Sometimes we worry too much about the perfect shot. I have a film photo of my oldest daughter that I took years and years ago (as little as I know now, imagine what I didn't know then). It is my favorite image of her and always brings joy to me.

Thanks everyone. I bought the camera mainly so that I could take photos of her that weren't terrible. I appreciate all the comments. I adjusted that tracks shot a LITTLE BIT more and I cropped as much as I could off the left while still keeping it in an 8x10 frame and I'm going to print it! Excited to get some stuff printed finally..

Here's another. This is also the first RAW I've been able to open directly in Photoshop. Like it MUCH more than Canon's software.

Can you tell by the expression on her face how much she doesn't take me seriously?

The greatest talent being overlooked here is your ability to get your 3 year old to sit still for a good photo. :D

Are those active railroad tracks? I'm not a fan of posing people, especially children, on tracks unless they are clearly out of use). It makes me feel uneasy. Am I the only one?

Awesome, I like the picture on the tracks, nice tuch-up too.

They're active but seldom used. It's not like I couldn't get off to the side with her in about 3 seconds. A train whistle is 150 db or more and the diesel engines they run on are super loud. Also, they maybe move at 20mph (they carry heavy freight) and I had a clear line of sight in both directions.

I don't doubt your ability to get off the tracks in plenty of time, I was just saying it gives me an uneasy feeling. I know lots of photogs who feel the same way. It's actually a taboo kind of thing in some photography circles (not that I'm a part of them, just read a lot of forums). Might be a mom thing :) She sure is a cutie, though!
