So this weekend I was asking people if they wanted a shoot but everyone seemed to be busy. So I asked my friend next door if we could do a shoot on his 2009 Aston Martin Vantage. This was the first car I had a shoot on when I first started out and the shots sucked but now I have a better camera and way way way more experience. So here are 13 pictures of the 200 Raw shots I took I hope you like them please tell me what you think.

I like the rolling shot into the sun much more than away. nice car.

I find the signs in the first few terribly distracting.

yeah the background really hurts the first few shots, esp the garbage on the left side. i like the rolling shots, though wish the sky wasn't blown out. and when doing car shots I try to avoid showing flaws. like on the first closeup wheel shot you have the corrosion around the ring of the centerpiece. dark shots could use some lighting as well. bit dark for my taste. all in all not bad though.

Gorgeous car, even for a convertible.

5,6 are awesome....the stills didn't really catch my eye.
12....I really like this one, just don't like the reflection of the trees in the paint under the headlight. Maybe a little more exposure on that one.

Third photo you have the backend of the car completely out of focus.

For the highway shots, I would have photoshopped the widows so they're darker. I don't care about the driver.

Thanks for the input I am editing them all today and should have them up by 7pm I am going to edit a lot of the signs out and darken the windows. What is the best way to darken the windows on Photoshop CS5?

Select your windows and paint inside with the paintbrush, but reduce the opacity (you'll tint the windows this way). Maybe there are better ways, but this one is the one I use.

I'm pretty much a novice at ps but I would make a new layer, that way once you paint in the mirror you can use the layer itself to change the opacity to whatever you want. I like being able to just use the slider to give me as much or as little change as i like. versus tryin an arbitrary percentage and hoping its close. plus if I dont like it i just delete the layer and start over.

Sometimes I change the layer type to soft light, it all depends on which I like better.

#5 is my favorite but I would try to rotate it slightly so it doesn't look so downhill, also see if you can shoot with a longer shutter on rolling shots to get the background to give a little more blur to it.

The dark reflections under the drivers headlight also try clone those out if you can.

cool photos, the like #4, #5 and the wheel, a lot of em seem dark, but you said you will process them today, should be no problem with Lightroom:)
