30D or 40D wwyd?

I am selling my Nikon D60 ( in the sale section) and I am switching to Canon. Would you all go for a 30D or a 40D. What are the highlights between the 2?

I do not see reasons for a switch between an old Nikon and an old Canon. SInce you have to change lenses too, it would be perhaps cheaper to buy a recent Nikon instead.

40d seems the obvious answer being that its newer..

The 40D is the newer, better of the two cameras, however it's also getting back pretty far in the lineup these days. The 30D is actually less camera than the Nikon you have now and the 40D is about the equivalent of what you have and was actually introduced before your Nikon D60. So... you aren't really upgrading.
The 40D has been replaced by the 50D which was replaced by the 60D.

What is your budget for this purchase?

40D. It is pretty much a lateral move, but you didn't mention upgrading.

WQell, the 40d is a really nice camera and a decent upgrade from the 30d, but yeah keep saving and get a 50d or even a 7d...
