$320 good price for Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 VC?

I also have the non VC version, so hand held, I'm not consistently as sharp. Technically, I don't think it's quite as good, but problems with my images are my fault, so I've likely not pushed the boundaries on either. When the IS went out on the Canon about eighteen months after purchase, I was too pissed to drop another grand on another or spend the money to repair. I've been happy with the lens and will leave it on the 40D as my backup when I get the MKIII.

I don't have any images shot on both that would make a good comparison, but here is one from the Canon and one from the Tammy.
