400 pg manual, are you kidding. 1 simple question

Hi I just got this camera and for my life can't figure out how to turn on that yellow box that means its focus tracking a moving subject.

What gives ? Not even the store I got if from can answer that one. The display model has it one. My new one, hopeless

Hmm, I suspect you are asking a question about a camera operation.
I think if you want an answer you may want to tell someone what exact model it is.

I believe it's called "face priority AF". Should be in the index. The index is at the back of the manual. Subjects are listed alphabetically. Or read about it here:

And yeah. Ive been reading for two days, thats one huge manual. Called the store and the guy was completely clueless. So I figured I'd jump on here.

OK so I Think I got it. I've gotten the yellow box to flash a few times when focussed on people but not on my dog. I'll be doing wildlife only so it'd be nice if this thing would give me the green box even if its not a persons face so I knew it was focussed.

Sorry for the dumb questions but this manual is insane. I'll go try and look it up but yikes. First descent camera and its kicking my butt

Sadly, the algorithm used to 'detect' faces is geared towards humans. I'd shudder to think how difficult it would be to write it so it recognizes dogs, cats, eagles, snakes, pumas, gorillas, cicadas, tarantulas, hyenas..............
