50' mast - 480sparky??

I think Sparky already has a mast but just wanted to throw this up here if anyone else is looking. Found this add in my local craiglist:

That's a vehicle-mounted mast... so you're limited to where you can set it up by where you can get a vehicle to. It doesn't look like there's a way to level it out if the road's tilted.

They're a lot of work. It takes time to get everything ready to do, then sent up.... link to the laptop, shoot & download, knock down and pack up.....

Yes, there's automated systems where you can drive up, push a button and in a minute or two the camera is up 50' and you're clicking away. But those are exceedingly expensive (ie, they are usually sold with the vehicle attached).

Now I see. Have you ever thought about mounting one to a ATV?

I would have to get an ATV first. I use my truck for most of the trip, then an ordinary 4-wheel cart to get to where I'm wanting to set up. I can set up indoors if I want.

What about a multi-rotor helicopter? It would be a lot cheaper and much more versatile. Not to mention easier to transport.

Im sure they are. But it seems like there would be a lot of interesting ways to use it

Absolutely. You can gain a perspective (and can capture the image) few people have ever imagined.
