I am bidding on an Auction here in New Zealand and it says the flash was bought overseas..MADE IN JAPAN. Is this where they are meant to be made? (580 ex ii).

Any prompt response would be great.

yes. the flash is made in Japan. Most of Canon's higher end products and indeed made in Japan
