5D Mark II and Battery Prices - Local shop placed an order at $100

I can't stop drooling. The local camera gear store called today and said they'd placed an order for 6 kits (w/24-105) and I am #3 on the list. Put down a $500 deposit, which guarantees I am #3 or better, depending on whether or not the people ahead of me put down a deposit.

Anyway, I asked about the batteries, and he went to look up the order. The salesman confirmed that they had already ordered the Canon-brand batteries, and they run $100 each. Not as bad as previous rumors. The grip is $380 (I can wait).

He finished the conversation by saying "I hope to give you a call in the next couple weeks."

Ooh, couple of weeks? That's earlier than I was expecting! Let's hope he's right!
