70-300mm tamron macro test.

I recently bought the Tamron 70-300mm macro lens, I was impressed with the macro function although it can only be used past 180mm.
Feedback on the photo please?

If you could have gotten a little more "behind" the spider, and not straight from the side. I sorta like the composition of it climbing upwards. But, as mentioned, it's very soft.

Nikon D90, thanks for the feedback, and yeah i did think it was a fair bit out of focus

See the difference? Sure, he has a better lens, but you need to know the limits of your gear... Can't see the EXIF, but it seems you used too wide open aperture for the spider or/and didn't focus properly. In macro photography every inch counts.

Use flash.. and stop down to F16 - F22... you will see a big difference. What did you shoot this at? Did you use AF, or did you focus manually?

i was using manual focus, cant remember the shutter speeds etc.. thanks
