Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I went to the beach today to try to take some photos, and I just felt underwhelmed and overwhelmed. There were too many people and not too much interesting fsctors to work with. Pretty much sand, ocean and a pier. I know a "good" photographer can make a straw look amazing, but it didn't seem to work out the way today lol. So I was a bit dissapointed. I thought I'd post some and see if I lucked out at all and there would be something redeeming. I took a lot of photos but these are the only ones I'm "ok" with. So tell me what you think.

i felt this could've work more if there was something on the right and if her underwear is distracting to me

This was an idea I had, it didn't work out as cool as I had hoped.

I can see what you mean. What about not doing back and white and going the complete opposite and making it overflowing with color? I dunno, just a newbie thought.

You mean going crazy with unrealistic oversaturation? could be a thought actually LOL

Here are some thoughts which I hope you may find helpful:

They all seem a bit soft. Make sure you are focusing correctly

#1 it feels a bit like a touristy snapshot, not incredibly interesting. I would try different angles, maybe getting camera lower to the ground or going under the pier would have resulted in more interesting compostions.

#2 is ok but not sure the bw conversion helped or hurt the end result
#3 from a composition standpoint this had the most potential... Although you it is a little soft in your subject I believe the composition is good

Your Black and White conversion needs work... they aren't black and white.. they are grey! They need more contrast! May I have permission to try some edits, and post them?

And yes.. they are a bit soft!

There is no quality light in any of the images, that's what's missing. You were on the wrong side of the pier

Let me know what you think.... I spent maybe five minutes on them... sharpened, changed contrast and tone.. and brightened a few spots.

I definetly like the direction, but that have a bit of noise... but I understand the direction, I'll try taking my photos and attempting again to add some dark/lights. What people's thoughts on the compositions?

It has noise, because I was working with a small web compressed image :) they also have a pinkish tone that I was fighting with... but hey, maybe it will give you some ideas! That is all I was after! :)

Thank you Charley, the effort was much appreciated and helpful!

Any better?

I think the contrast helps with her underwear situation

I like the lighthouse photo regardless of any fault or rules. It's creative and brilliant.
