Hi all, just joined so decided to post a couple of pics.

This one was taken in west mine, it's a disused copper mine in alderley edge UK, the people in thisone is my self and a mate of mine.

thanks for looking, C+C welcome

I know very little about this genre of photography, but overall I'd say very good shots. I always open these 'beginner' threads expecting total trainwrecks.

The forefround rocks in #2 are probably a bit too bright and prominent and are distracting.

Noob...psh. You're not a noob.

Great photos.

I rather like number 2.

I want to like number 1. The top is kind of cool but the blown lights at the bottom sort of kill it for me.

Nice job otherwise.

Cheers for the comments.

Yeh, compersition is kind of hard, you dont get a whole lot of time for each shot as people dont want to wait for you and it is pitch black, so you cant 100% see what you'll get in the picture untill you've got the picture.

due to the locations, you dont really have the luxury of having a couple of speed lights you can dot about the place either, so it's all done with torches.

as for the blone lights, yep, it's a shame, not a lot i could do about it though from a single shot exposure, i'm not knolageable enough or experanced enough to do multiple exposures, i've only had a camera about 2 years, and i spent the first year with the settings set to auto

I love them, Number 1 is my favourite, but the light at the bottom of the waterfall?? is what catches the eye first off the block, shame it cannot be turned down a few notches.

I think scale is a great thing to achieve in photo/picture composition, so i like #1 especially! Interesting pictures!

The placement of the figures in #2 is good IMO too, in combinaion with the awesome backdrop.

Try getting in close sometimes to your foreground subjects.

Cheers for the comments.

I'm home now and looking at these on a good monitor. My monitor at work SUCKS. These look really good. Job well done!

Damn nice shots for a "noob". I don't think the blown out lights at the bottom of No.1 could be controlled. Same as the head lamp in No.2 Nice job.

Very nice shots for a "noob". Your pictures are quite good. I really like the second one. Great composition.

Yeah, pretty good for a self-proclaimed noob!!! Love the second one!

Nope. No noobs here.

*Tries another room*

Every time i scroll up and down to see both, i change my like from this to that and that to this.... i don't know by how many years the noob status would end; but these are simply awesome!!!!

cheers all for the comments.
