Went to Scarborough for the day, as we tend to do when it's cold wet 'n; windy. Here are a handful of snaps - some HDR, and some may not be to taste, but a bit of everything. Let me know what you think. :)

I like what you did with the first three, they look like those postcards from the 1920s.

#3 is my fav. Really tells a story.

I like the photos, quite nice.

My issue is the watermark. It's extremely distracting. I'm all for them but I would at least bring the opacity down to 50%

Will never win when it comes to a logo (not a watermark - too bright ;) ).
I put the same photos, reduced in size, everywhere on t'interwebs. I'm not bothered in most cases if people copy them, but in many cases I just want my badge out there. But it's a never ending debate, isn't it? :)

Cheers

That it is indeed. I can also understand your reasoning. To each their own I guess.

#3 is my fav, it really shows that winter has set in (id imagine that place would be busy in the summer) and therefore the shop keeper looks rather bored haha

Yes, in the cold and wet, Scarborough sure looks different from when I went there in May 2010; your treatment to your photos helps the "dark and wet" along nicely. Interesting half desaturation leaving the red-and-yellow bright, PLUS its reflection (Photo 1). I quite like that one, more so since I may very well have walked that street back then ;).

If you've been to Scarborough you will surely have walked that street - it's right on the front - sand to the right of the picture. :)

Yes. We had cream tea someplace near to where you took this photo, I am just sure we did!
And your logo... as much as you find it necessary ... erm ... well ... how do I put it ... fully in colour as it is ... and your photos partly desaturated ... it ...erm ... IS distractive...

Yes, I know about the logo. I share my photos all over the place and use only the one copy from Flickr...so the logo is there on all of them.
It's a case of "Win some, Lose some" and something that crops up all the time...people could debate it forever. :)
