No stories to share except you guys will have to wait at least another week before I can show off what my D100 can do. I went to the zoo yesterday, spent 5 hours only to find that all the data on the card is corrupted for some reason. Luckily I also took the SX50, so i did get a few decent shots to share.

The first one is taken using the D100, and other using SX50. Let me know what you guys think :)

#1. First decent shot of the D100, a sparrow looking for food:

#2. As was this Spoonbill:

#3. A sleepy leopard

#4. And finally the Royal Bengal Tiger :)

Okay, Sparrows are small and that will be a cropped image for sure. Its showing fine feathering details in the body area Raj. Let all the review outfits on the net give you numbers and graphs to tell how sharp a system is, but that's how a bird shooter tells how sharp a system is ;) There is nothing out there better than feather details to tell you how sharp a lens is, LOL. So at the moment, in not ideal lighting conditions, that looks pretty good Raj. Its totally different to the SX50 IS in the sensor department and so will the lens be, so you need to give it time as you know. Never judge anything in a a few days, it takes settings and technique to nail it down. That takes a little time.

Anyway ;) all fine shots Raj. Love the cats and the Spoonbill. Different around the eyes than out Spoonbill's.

All the best Raj and have a blast. Very pleased for ya :)

Danny.

I like the sleepy leopard best....even if the texture of the foreground and background dominates the scene. Good texture...nice composition.
Thanks Izzi, I'm glad you like it. Specially as you're not that easy to impress!

Nice set Raj
Thank you so much Radical :)

Thanks Danny, but actually it's not cropped 1 bit. I take extra care when shooting using the D100 as I know I don't have much headway for cropping. I really worked hard to get close, I guess it'll improve me even more as a photographer for some time to come. :)
I remember you said something about the isolation of the subject, and I totally see it now. I just so regret that I couldn't show you guys what I got yesterday. It sucks! :(

Beautiful captures Raj... I really liked the Sparrow and the leopard. Your sparrow pic took me back to my childhood days.
We used to have at least 4-5 sparrow nests in the Verandah of our old house. Their funny chirping sound was so soothing to the ears. Its really sad that these beautiful little fellas are disappearing at an alarming rate especially here in Delhi.

Raj, as usual very nice, excellent photography.

Nice shots Raj

Did you format the card in the camera before shooting ? Always best to format in the camera before first use. Then just shoot off 50 quick shot of anything and see if it is ok going forward.

Thanks Mandeep. Yes, I remember the same. The population declined in our parts too, but since the last couple of years we are seeing more and more of them. So hopefully somethings going the right, you may soon find them back in your verandahs :)

Thanks Larry :)

Thanks Bill. No I didn't, it never crossed my mind. And TBH I didn't know that too, it could easily have been the problem. Because when I later checked it, the card showed 7.5 GB of space occupied. But it only had about 550 MB of data in it, very strange indeed. :scratchhead:
I'll format them and try once again, thanks Bill :)
