A couple Rattlers with a P&S

I took these photos last fall with a crappy little p&s digicam. But I am getting my DSLR this weekend, and in anticipation of the coming field season, I'd like some comments and critiques on what I can do to improve moments like this, once I have the power and control of my new DSLR in my hands.

You did very well with them, great shots, if you are worried about the contrast try hitting the autolevels in photoshop, it does wonders for my p&s.

Personally I am deathly afraid of snakes, so I'd have called in an airstrike!
