A Few More Before I Go To The Darkside

I like the water one best. I also agree with Alison. The G series Canons have always been one of the best out there.

When Steve's reviewed the new 8MP prosumer cameras I thought the Canon Pro 1 had a slight edge in picture quality. I just handled the Pro1 and the Sony 828 in a store yesterday. It may be because I'm used to my Sony 717 but I liked the feel and handling of the 828 much better. I also have large hands but the 828 felt great. The 717 and 828 look kind of awkward but are just the opposite. That long lens compartment sits in the hand just perfectly and protects the lens assembly well. When the lens was fully extended on the Pro 1 it looked plasiticy and vunerable to me. I know the 828 got knocked in reviews but so did the 717 and it takes great pictures I think. The 828 is more solid feeling but still light. I'm not necessarily pushing the 828, just thought I'd share recent observations. I think the 828 is supposed to be fast on follow up shots and that's has become my second most important criteria after picture quality.

Why not a DSLR, too much trouble to get set up for each pic?

if i can get enough money together then yeah id go for a D70. still might, but im running out of things to sell
