Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I just got a D3100 a few months ago thanks to the birth of my first baby girl. I've been addicted to taking photos. I'm an illustrator/graphic designer in my spare time, and I took some of my photoshoppin' skills to some select pictures. Personally, I think I need to work on using the right aperture to get the right field of depth to what I'm shooting. I'm hoping for some honest feedback. Don't hold any punches, yeah?

The following are some shots I took with a 18-55mm Nikkor lens that comes standard on the D3100. These were all taking using ambient lighting in full manual mode. I'll update the aperture/shutter speed/ISO settings when I get home to the computer that these are actually saved on. Cheers!

well how can you go wrong with jet engines and the space shuttle? Not really sure what some of them are but they look like pretty cool machines. A little dark on a couple. Is that an SR-71??? Merlin?

The first 2 are afterburners from the Challenger Space shuttle. #3 is a Lockheed jet used by the United States Air Force (obviously). #4 is a life-sized replica of the Challenger. #5 is some sort of early combustion engine. #6 is indeed an Sr-71 Blackbird. Looks like I forgot #7, and #8 is a jet turbine.

Yeah, some of the photos came out dark. The lighting in the museum was very very dark in some places and I didn't want to use my flash. It was kinda cool though, because I got this natural blueish tint from the lights without using a filter or any photoshoping. I have since played with the color balancing and whatnot.

Really good work for your first few, looking forward to seeing more of your work. It's nice that you have that PS background to help with your post work, but don't forget the before and during too!

Thanks for the nice words, dude. I'm always striving to get better and I'm pretty proud of these considering I've only been at it for a month or so.

Is this a repost? I thought i already commented on this series..?

I had posted in the regular gallery before I realized there was a beginner gallery. I felt it was more appropriate to post them here.
