They make me go meh. Don't know why exactly, but they just don't do it for me.

Isnt the insect in focus, on number 3???

I should of stated that these were taken with a little point and shoot while holding another dog on a lead lol

YEAH and it was probly windy lol, shows your potential!!!! i like how crisp the corn bud things are and the colours and they are well framed at unusual angles. Keep up the good work :sexywink:

Awesome! I really like the first 2. Thanks for sharing!

If I can make a comment. I think they are OK, nothing spectacular, but not give-up-your-camera bad.

What really irks me is the comment I quoted. Why would you make excuses for why your photos aren't so great? If your photos can't stand on their own without you having to make excuses about them I wouldn't post them.

Those're just my thoughts.
Keep shooting!

So basically Its better not to share a picture if something is a little out of focus, and i explain why...
LMAO think that a bit of a shallow comment to be honest, but its all taken on board

Thanks

lyon actually makes a fair point.
since this is a photo forum, and you asked for commentary, its usually best to share the cream of the crop. if there are focus issues, then yes, its probably best not to post, as much of the comments you receive will be about the state of focus, or lack thereof.
pics that have obvious issues like that are best critiqued by friends who may or may not know any better. ;)
not trying to sound like an ass, but thats just my opinion on the matter.

you could sidestep this issue, by requesting specific feedback...

"i know these have some soft focus issues, so that aside, please comment on composition" or something...
that may make my whole above statement moot, but i think in a case like that, it might be justifiable.

Not at all. Post anything you want. It's a beginners forum.
That's not what I meant at all, honestly it wasn't. People post much worse stuff than yours every day and that's OK.

In my mind, there's a difference between "explaining" something and "making excuses for" something.

I should of stated that these were taken with a little point and shoot while holding another dog on a lead lol

That just sounds a whole lot like "I was doing too many things at once so that's why my pictures aren't that great."

To me the pictures are great despite the conditions I took them in.
Im not pin pointing anyone but as you stated this is a beginers forum and its so much easier for somebody to sit at the computer and criticise somebodies pictures.
Isnt photography about sharing your captured images?? Thats my opinion.

I think I will be looking for another forum to join, as i have looked at quite a few pictures beginers have taken. I think alot of people forget the constructive bit and just concentrate on criticising peoples work. And want to sound like they know what there talking about to much than helping the individual improve there photography.

If the pictures are great to you then why did you feel the need to make excuses as to why they aren't the best?

I post a lot of pictures too. I don't just "sit at the computer and criticise somebodies pictures."

Well somebody stated that they were out of focus a little, so therefore i explained why this could of been.. Thats all

And i am not saying that you sit there and criticise...as i said im not pin pointing anyone, just a general vibe that i am getting from this site thats all.
