A few pier shots for C&C

So i was out testing my new camera and here are a couple for CC. The second is way out of focus. I was already in my car when I noticed this weird beam of light coming from what looks like the sun, and rushed to get a couple shots.

Since you say you rushed to get the shot, I assume you know they're under exposed as far as foreground is concerned.

I really love the colour of the sky in the first one although your horizon line is a bit wonky, which will really any some people here!

Personally, i would have been disapointed with the second one and put it aside because it lacks detail, even in the clouds. This makes me think the whole image is underexposed. You captured something really cool though in terms of freakish planet behaviour! Do you know what that strobe of light is?

I love the 1st one. I do like sillouette shots and this has a lot of interest in it including the man with the Tripod. The 2nd one just hasn't got enough detail for me. The only thing of interest is the sky.

I like the man in the shot but it was him that made me think theyre not supposed to be sillhouette shots, no?

Totally agree with this! It's fabulous to live near the beach, isnt it?

LOVE LOVE LOVE #1, I think I would have taken out the power lines going from lamp to lamp up on the bridge, but I like the silhouette look. :thumbup:
