A few 'spicy' modeling shots from last night

Can this be done in a thong as well?
.... or not....

God I hope that's not a self portrait.. rofl.

Sorry to help derail thread.

@OP, the specular highlights on the cheeks I think are distracting. You could try toning those down in post or next time shoot with the lights closer to the model.

There is another bit of sage advice in posing...... If it bends, bend it.

I guess we'll just have to assume that the bendable got bent, eh

reznap, that bugs me too. I'll try moving the lights closer. I definitely had room to bring them in a little.

The last one looks like ed gein took her face and filled it with lumps of coal.

Probably the make up.

don't know why I post these before really going through major pp, but here's some shots from last night - still getting my pink cast on the backdrop (again, have NOT worked with the whitebalance on these, basically how they were shot). Not necessarily the best of the bunch, but wanted to get some out.

not happy with my lighting yet, all over the place, need some barn doors for better directional lighting on hair.

but curious about opinions regarding overall posing, etc. obviously not a pro (model or photographer!!!).

she also went to the tanning bed the same morning and had some heavy makeup on - she's coming back in about a week - told her NOT to tan and light on the makeup. Round 2 next week.

1-background light is white on left, falls off to right hand side, causing uneven background color (neither good, nor bad!) Overall, a bit more light coming from slightly behind her and to the left than from the front.

2-background light is more even across the width of the frame than in shot #1. Not near enough light coming from the front. She looks "backlit", as you can see where her shoulder sort of disappears into the white-white left side of the frame and what is called "blowback light" or "wrap" is forming around her outline (neither bad,nor good-it just 'is').

3-background light is almost even white across the width of the frame. A good, fairly even mix of light coming from behind her, and from the front side. her skin has detail, and shape, and her blouse shows detail in it, even though it is black.

4- The lighting setup shows tremendous detail and shaping of the face. Good hair highlighting on the left side, cheek bone shape shown, right hand side of the frame shows main light with good detail. Her cheeks are well-defined by lighting, and by the extreme makeup.

These show an interesting mix of not good, not good, then solid, then solid lighting schemes...her rather extreme makeup is kind of heavy-handed (theatrical, club-type makeup) and is a bit too shiny...she needs a matte finish tranluscent powder brushed over top of the makeup,at the VERY minimum, to cut down on the sheen. Pretty good test session results with brand-spanking new lights!

Wow. What posessed her to wear that make up?

In general I don't know. But she didn't know how much or what to expect, and I didn't consider it until time to shoot. Told her next time don't put any makeup on other than a little eyeliner until she gets there.

Just another item on the checklist I'll have to consider for the next one.

It seems to me that she doesn't know how to make make-up work for her in normal circumstances and didn't consider the fact she'd be under heavy lighting. Mousses and shimmery make-up items are always a b!tch when lighting is involved, whether it be a photoshoot or a nightclub! All women should know that. If you don't want to spring for a MUA, just make sure she understands the issue. I once worked with an aspiring model who was so dog ugly and refused to wear make up for the shoot so i photoshopped make up onto her - always a last resort option!

I was giving you poo...no hard feelings...I take 100s of shots before I realize...I never white-balanced...

Not at all Agent - did another shoot tonight - first thing i checked was my ISO lol! These came out much better (of a dude though - will post later). The girl in this shoot is coming back early next week and I'm sure those will be better too!
