Hello everyone out here this is my first post hope u like it...

Too much green and the background is distracting. Try re-shooting with a larger aperture (smaller number) to isolate the subject.

I agree with thebeatles. Also the way the flower is laying down horizontally detracts from it as the focal point. I think it doesn't automatically register to the viewer that it is a flower bud as they usually are upright.

Wow what an improvement. But I think symmetry is key when having this sort of composition. The rule of thirds only apply(IMHO) when the subject doesn't populate more then half and all the way to the end of a frame. Since the stem extends to most of the frame and all the way to the edge I think centering this will work.

Edit: I don't know if that made any sense at all? lol

REASON: i m not a photographer its ma hobby nor hav dne ne course of photography..
so i might not get the tecnical terms n theory...

completely agree, no need for shorthand when you are typing.

now for the photo lo l I like the edited version of the first photo much better than the original. The second shot is just not very eye catching in my opinion, it looks a bit out of focus to me.

as a novice, i would like to ask as how do you judge the photo...

Your focal point is not the flower itself, it looks to be at the base of the stem, so the flower is out of focus.
