Shooting for a brochure, all identifying marks have been removed. Natural light from a large open door. Wasn't going for the serious look but right time and place.

I like the lighting, but why is he all squished over on the right side of the frame? It feels very unbalanced.

My thinking was that the side that was light would take up more of the frame than the dark side. Hard to explain.

I get that, and it's o.k., but the small rectangles of light over his shoulder are distracting. Could you clone them out?

Haha, i debated doing just that before posting.

I think the rectangles add to the shot. You might burn them so they don't draw the eye as much, but they provide some context to the shot. Your edit with them completely removed could just as easily been shot in studio.

Which is why I left them in at first. I will try darkening them. Thanks.

Try it both ways, but I think you'll like it better with them gone.

Could you maybe retouch out his safety glasses? And add a beard??? And perhaps make him look about 7 years and 6 months older??? lol

Lighting seems a bit harsh and high-contrast in B&W. I agree with Tirediron...the dude seems very squished over into the right hand side of the frame....that just doesn't "read right", visually.
