I'm not too sure about this photo. How does it look? Does it tell a story or convey a message? Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks.

TILT? It conveys that you are a very new photographer, or hang out on facebook too much! The subject is unrecognizable.. and the tilt makes that worse! What is it?

Yeah, thats what i thought people would say. I have a hard time composing shots that have no moving subjects. Can you give me some advice?
Thanks.
I'm not bad with moving subjects though. (I don't think)

No clearly defined (and identifiable) subject. There's something there in focus.... but I have no clue what it is.

The extreme tilt makes me think either the image is an "Oops", meaning you accidently took it while holding the camera at your side, or you were falling over.

Except you cut is left foot off.... should have shot this vertically if he was the subject, and not framed too tightly while shooting. Crop it later. Now if you wanted the crowd in.. that is fine, shoot horizontal, but don't chop off body parts on the performer....

OK, thanks for the tip. Much appreciated.

I had a 50 on a crop body (80mm) and i wasn't expecting a flip, so yeah. I'll do better next time. Thanks.

The first image isn't very good. Doesnt tell a story, hard to read, the tilt is way too much. People usually add tilt to try and add something dynamic in their image, but way overdo it. Just as people do HDRs to pull out details and also way overdo it.

You asked us if it tells a story, but I'll ask you, what where you trying to convey with the image?

For the moving subject, its just ok... seems more snapshot-ish than actually a photo. As said, the foot is cut off. It also seems a bit underexposed. There is some blur in there as well. Blur in a moving subject can work, such as getting the feet or hands blurry which shows even more motion, but it is a fine line. What you could of done is get a bit lower, changing up the typical standing up straight shooting angle many people have and get in closer on the subject, shooting up with a slightly wider lens. Just a thought :)

I was trying to convey that there was something wrong (the tilt) with how the sewer is just in the middle of a forest, but i guess i just didnt think it through.

Yeah, i could have gotten a different angle with the second one there. And i usually shoot with -1/3 EV.
Thanks for the advice.

The story I'm getting is "help I've fallen and I can't get up"

The tilt is too much, the subject is centered and not very recognizable, and even if it wasn't tilted, and wasn't centered, and was recognizable, I'm going to say
"so what"?
