A little hiking in Ohio

Went to Hocking Hills to camp over the weekend and took some shots on our 6 mile hike. Why don't I feel like these pics do the place justice? Do I need a wide angle lens for stuff like this? I don't feel like the pictures have any depth to them. Anyways, C&C always appreciated
