A specific CC

I made a mistake and posted way too many for CC and din't get much feedback. So instead I'm going to just post a few at a time.

Outside of the Grand Floridian

My own personal cirtique is the entire photo should be in focus.

It's sort of a peculiar shot, but it's interesting enough that I stared at it for 30 seconds. Not sure what you're going for, but it got my attention.

^^ Agreed. As for me, I was shifting between the lantern and the ... animals in the upper portion of the photograph. Not sure what the subject is?

I like the angle of view though. Were you on a building or something?

I'm not sure that monochrome was the best treatment option here. It's rendered most of the image relatively dark, with three, bright, white areas. Since the eye is naturally attracted to bright, viewers have to work hard to 'see' the whole image.

Was the lighting on the previous one better? I posted this one up for CC a few days ago, but decided to post up the one on this thread because it's a less blurry re-shoot.

Should I re-try the PP on the less blurred one and try to re-create the more balanced contrast on the blurry one?

Also, what if I clone one out either the lamp post or the deer? Will that help with the main focus issue?

If you're going to get rid of anything, why not the /light/sprinkler head/round fixture/ thing?

What's the problem? The different lighting or do you feel like the lamp post added to the photo?

That lamp was part of a group of three white shapes in the upper area.

It was also a part of three black shapes in the lower area.

The lamp tied the two areas together crossing through the big white arch!

This says to me you didn't have any of that in mind when clicking the shutter. So, I have to ask. What made you take this picture?

I actually with you, I agree and this IS what I had in mind when I took the photo, I'm just trying to improve and apparently according to everyone else there were "too many elements going on" so I just figured I missed the mark. But yeh I thought I was right so thanks for reassurance lol. Also, which lighting do you think is better?

Well, I really like it.

Consider peoples opinions, but feel free to defend your purpose.

They made you grasp at straws, wanting to remove random things for no reason.


The b&w conversion is better in the bad clone edit though. It separates the benches from the bricks.

Blackrose, I really like this shot! (I mean the first one you posted, not the other edits.)
It's got an Alice in Wonderland feel, well done. And it's IMO the best shot that I've seen from you yet.

My only suggestion is to pull back the contrast just a bit, the deer have lost a bit of detail in their backs, but other than that I personally wouldn't change anything else. As Bitter said, the lamp serves to tie the two parts of the shot (deer & benches) together, it works well as it is.
