A step from the Usual- Dog Portraits

Takes a while for the critters to listen to you.
This is not my usual type work
Canon 20D- 17-40L- Metz 48 flash and a bed sheet

Nice pics, though if you have the resolution I would have cropped the top one to zoom in a bit closer, maybe portrait the layout instead, just an idea :)

your bed sheets need an iron running over them ;)
You might also try positioning the dog a little further forward so as to increase the blur (A little) on the background and also so that when they sit they don't end up messing up the background into lines and such.

First shot would really benefit from going for a more portrate crop - removing empty space on the right would not only help to decentralize the image, but also make the look that the dog has more leading

Ever try to position a golden retriever? Not easy work.

ever tried with a husky - its harder - I bet you its harder ;)
its all part of this area - so keep at it
