A Sunset to Remember

A few days ago I had an awesome opportunity to shoot the many beautiful sights of the Middle Oregon coast with fellow photographer and TPF genius Derrel. He was kind enough to let me shoot with his nice glass (thanks again)!

The light was harsh most of the day. Neither of us were confident that the sunset was going to be anything special. It was a mostly cloudless day. In Oregon, it's tough to come by a beautiful sunset. But alas, a few westerly clouds rolled in on the horizon to give the sky a nice soft texture. The colors came through a nice pink and orange. We both shot it do death! Here are my shots:

Thanks frequency! Are you saying the light coming from the sun in #1 resembles the outline of an eagle?
