My son wants to shoot flash with one of my old Minolta film cameras, so I dug into a couple old bags & came up with this for him:

That flash dates from the late 50s.

That flash is older than me. :D

Looks like some of my FIL's old stuff I was look through recently. :)

(FIL = father-in-law)

You've got unused flash bulbs? Wow.

I bet you have some flash cubes lying around somewhere ... and try not to dig out those really old bulbs (before the safety bulbs) as they might be quiet unstable.

Do you remember the flash bulbs that looked like regular household bulbs filled with metal wool? I had a few & put one in a lamp to surprise my wife but she discovered it & turned the table one me. I turned on a lamp & blew the fuse in the main box of the house. Damn, its hard to get one over that women.

I think I still have one somewhere.

Yeah, a friend of mine has some Bulbs and the Flash to go with it ... he's been in the photo industry for decades (or maybe centuries).
I don't think he ever tried the Flash Bulb in the Lamp trick.

I am not as experienced as you are, but I did start in the Photo retail industry fairly early so I did encounter a lot of equipment.
I do miss the good old days of photography ... I still miss the feeling of rolling film into cannisters, or sloshing paper around in a try ... there is nothing like the smell of fixer in the morning (I think I said that before in another thread).

... and on that topic ... have you noticed that B&W digital images (in general) are not the "same" as those from the olden days ?
